Prior to the FANRPAN 2012 Regional Dialogue, a campaign is run by each of the 6 young consultants who conducted the Country Case Studies from 1st to 31st August 2012 to engage youths and others who are interested in the case-studies in discussions.
In order to go deeper into discussions, we propose you to share your ideas here, additionally to contribute to discussions on Twitter!

Bring out the voice of the youth on several issues related to capacity development in agricultural research for development.
Join one of three online groups according to your topic of interest, and share your ideas on youth engagement:
- Agricultural innovation systems -> What are steps towards greater engagement with youth to create stronger agricultural innovation systems;
- Value and reward systems -> What are or could be incentives and reward systems for young people to choose agriculture for their career?
- Changes in curricula -> What are the new skills and competencies required in new professionals in agriculture and rural development (changes in curricula).
Each e-group will prepare a draft proposal for presentation at the youth preparatory meeting at GCARD2 in October, which will be further developed and refined based on discussion and feedback from attendees. The final versions will be fed into the GCARD plenary.

YPARD members are getting together as core working groups of committed individuals on local, national, and regional levels to fine areas of priority for young people in ARD in their region. This may include capacity development needs of young professionals in ARD, particular fields of interest that need to be opened further to young people or topics of discussion where young people need to be further engaged. The objective is to identify activities that can take these priorities forward, perhaps contributing to country or regional strategy that follows YPARD’s strategic objectives and looks to build upon the movement within the country or region.
