EIT Food RIS fellowship workshop

On 25 of June, I had the opportunity to join and actively participate in a unique networking and case study solving one day workshop led by EIT Hubs. The workshop took place at the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague, Czech Republic.

EIT is an independent EU body set up in 2008 to spur innovation and entrepreneurship to overcome some of its greatest challenges. It compromises a separate European consortium that focuses on entrepreneurship and innovation in the food sector – EIT Food. The members of the EIT Food community are players in the international food domain.

It brings together leading higher education institutions, research labs, and companies. The European Institute of Innovation & Technology  (

EIT) Regional Innovation Scheme (EIT RIS) is the EIT Community’s outreach scheme. The scheme enables the transfer of good practices and know-how from EIT’s unique approach to boosting innovation.

The main goal of the workshop was to participate in activities that solve real problematic situations that companies in the food industry are facing. Together with other the other participants, we carried out studies, individual and group tasks and paper/pencil analytical and mathematical tests.

Also, we got familiar with the working environment at international companies; different areas of operation of food systems companies as well as challenges of the food industry. At the end of the sessions, we got the certificates for successfully completing the EIT Food RIS project workshop!
