It was my first time out of Nigeria to join other youths across Africa in a very important topic: Agriculture and entrepreneurship! It was the iHAV Foundation conference held on the 24th 27th July, 2013 at Africana Guest House Accra, Ghana involving youths between the ages of 18 28 years coming together to listen to and interact on ways to improve the way Agriculture should be taken as a viable business in the continent.
Participants from Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Senegal, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia and Uganda came together and were grouped to create Social entreprises that will improve Agriculture as a sustainable business in Africa.
The conference was indeed an eye opener for me as I got to interact first hand with a lot of people from different Nationalities across Africa, learning from their culture, tribe, weather conditions and food.
More details of the conference will be highlighted in future blogposts, however one thing we should know is this fact: If African youths practice Agriculture as a business with proper research and planning, they will create more jobs and attract the support of the government and other stake holders!
