Welcoming YPARD representative for Brazil: Rebeca Souza!

rebeca souzaWe are delighted to welcome a new YPARD representative in the region of Latin America and the Carribean (YPARD-LAC): Rebeca Souza, YPARD country representative for Brazil!

Rebeca is an economist very much passionate about encouraging young people, enhacing human development and promoting food and nutrition security.

She holds a Masters Degree in International Development and has a very diversified work experience - from banking system to international organizations.

"While working at FAO, I fell in love with the idea of promoting youth employment and I also had the chance to meet YPARD. she says;

"As YPARD's Brazil representative, I hope to encourage Brazilian young professionals in ARD to go for new opportunities in this field and to have a strong voice in the agricultural sector.

My deepest desire is to see these young professionals to take chances, to grow in character and knowledge and to go higher because as Buzz Lightyear says: we have to go "to infinity, and beyond!".

Rebeca was also one of the key organizers among the proactive and hard working team of FAO interns who initiated and implemented the “Innovative Ideas to Feed the World – Young Professionals Contest and Conference” held at FAO Headquarters on the 21 May.

Welcome, Rebeca! Your energy, passion and set of skills would surely open up new doors for YPARD in LAC and bring into the global community a stronger voice from brazilian young professionals! Samba!!
