Madhu will be working on spreading the word and animating YPARD social media channels on Facebook page and group, Linkedin, Twitter, Pinterest and Google+. He will be working remotely from Nepal some 10-15 hours a week.
Madhu is a young nepalese student enrolled in a BSc. Agriculture at Tribhuwan University, Institute of Agriculture and Animal Sciences, Paklihawa Campus (Siddarthanagar 1 Rupandehi, Nepal). He would like to develop his career in food security management through plant protection. Rural development and poverty alleviation are also some of his key areas of interest. He is also a YPARD Nepal local representative.
Madhu is highly interested in informing and empowering young professionals in agriculture using social media. He showed strong insights on how social media can serve YPARD objective and a better participation of the youth in Agricultural Research for Development.
Today we have millions of users on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ etc. and most of them are youths. We can obviously use these media in motivating youth for our objective and develop them as a platform for constructive and elaborative discussions that would help to promote and meet YPARD strategy and objectives. Its also a mean to inform the upcoming generation about the media and the potential to use them in a constructive way for working together for agricultural development. Accessibility of social media via desktops, laptops, PDAs, smart phones, and other ordinary java and symbion cell phones has widened its scope and effectiveness in promoting ideas on youth participation and ARD.
I would like to thank the whole YPARD team very much for providing me with the opportunity to work together with the YPARD-Global Coordination Unit as Social Media Intern, he says. I am committed and ready to accomplish the tasks assigned to me throughout the duration.
Welcome on Board, Madhu!
Dear all, don't waste a minute, join us and keep in touch on social media above metioned!
