Welcoming YPARD Web and Communications Officer – Amelia Ochoa

Amelia Ochoa, Web and Communications Officer

We are delighted to welcome Amelia Ochoa as YPARD Web and Communications Officer. Amelia is joining YPARD Global Coordination Unit for a period of 6 months.

Amelia has a background in Audiovisual Communications and Hispanic Philology, from the University of Navarra, Spain. In 2010, she contributed to a Project on Mass media and NGO crisis as a researcher. They analysed the treatment of NGO crisis by the Media from the 90’s to 2010. Also she studied Political Sciences for five months in Santiago, Chile.

In the past years, Amelia was trainee at the Press unit of the European Parliament in Brussels, worked as a journalist for the TV news agency “Rome Reports”, and as a translator and radio speaker in the Vatican’s official newspaper L’Osservatore Romano. She is thus familiar with the editing and production of a variety of multimedia content and products.

“After having tried different areas within the communication field, I have realized that most of the times what matters is not ‘what you want to do’ but ‘what the goal of your work is’ – she says - and therefore I am looking for a place in which I can feel excited for the tasks I carry out and committed to its values.”

“As a new member of YPARD`s crew, I am very glad to be part of it and work in such a busy and highly motivating environment, where I will contribute with my daily work to youth role promotion and young professionals’ empowerment for agricultural and rural development.” She says.

Amelia is bringing to the team new assets and great perspectives to foster YPARD network and information sharing globally and in Latin America particularly.

Welcome on board, Amelia!
