YPARD is welcoming three interns to support information services through ypard.net, increase YPARD visibility and community interaction on Social Networks, and strengthen the reach of YPARD in three languages: English, Spanish and French.
YPARD is eager to get more young people from all over the world involved in youth and agricultural development, and this will enable us to provide enhanced support to the network!
Web4Knowledge
Nawsheen Hosenally is our new Web4Knowledge intern and will support YPARD information services through information management on ypard.net.
Nawsheen is a well recognized young professional from Mauritius specialized in agricultural extension. She is already well integrated in networks of young and dynamic professionals voicing their ideas in strategic discussions to make agriculture “sexy”, and share information and opportunities for capacity development.
Nawsheen distinguished herself with her outstanding familiarity with online resources related to agriculture and youth worldwide, her French language skills and her eagerness to share information with others.
A brief summary of her achievements includes: working with Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network (FANRPAN), Platform for African-European Partnership on Agricultural Research for Development (PAEPARD) and she is now country representative for Mauritius with YPLD. She is also involved with AIESEC Mauritius in the National Support Team for Incoming Exchange. She recently won the 1st prize in the Youth in Agriculture Blog Competition (YoBloCo Awards) organized by the Technical Centre of Agriculture and Rural Cooperation ACP-EU (CTA) in 2012!
We hope Nawsheen will gain from her internship with us by strengthening her abilities in Information management, notably through Drupal (Content Management System) and RSS pipes management. We are convinced she will be a great asset for optimizing information sharing on ypard.net!
Social Networking
Otojare Oghenetega Djuma is our new Social Networking intern. You will soon be able to keep in touch and interact with him on YPARD’s profiles and groups on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and more!
Tega is a social media enthusiast from Nigeria. We were struck by his great energy and his genuine understanding of Social Networking’s strategic potential. Tega has some previous experience as a volunteer in online community forum management, blogging, and social media strategy implementation for a youth led network – The Positive Youth Network (TPY).
Although Tega does not have direct experience in the agricultural field, he has a strong interest and understanding on the benefits of agricultural development in his own country.
We believe that Tega will strengthen his expertise on social networking with us, and will be able to put in practice the great potential he has to become an online leader. His dynamic, catchy and straight to the point writing style shall certainly make him successful in giving YPARD more visibility and mobilizing the community to become more active!
Translations
Luciana Sabina Tcaciuc is our new intern in Translations, from Romania. She will be a great support in expanding YPARD in three languages: English, French and Spanish, and therefore help reach more young professionals from different parts of the world. She will be translating from English to French and Spanish, and from these two languages to English when needed.
Her interest in multilingualism and international organisations dates back to 2001, when she represented her country at Parlement Francophone des Jeunes, in Canada, where she was able to work as a member of parliament and draft the Charter of Young People. She has an extended educational background in translations and experience as translator, notably for European affairs.
This new experience with YPARD will help her strengthen her abilities in Spanish, benefit from the feedback of mother language people in French and Spanish, and broaden her scope of translation expertise to the agricultural area.
In the same spirit of YPARD and our mission to get people together, share and take action together, Sabina says: ‘It is my professional and personal desire to help people, who do not share the same language, communicate and to use my language skills in an efficient manner. I feel that translation, as a bridge between languages and cultures, contributes enormously to the communication and understanding between people. Working as a translator, I feel I can bring a contribution to this, which increases my motivation and job satisfaction.”
