Video contest on soil erosion

In the framework of the Global Symposium of Soil Erosion (GSER19), the FAO Global Soil Partnership (GSP) is launching a Video Contest on Soil Erosion. The purpose of the video contest is to offer participants the opportunity to share their testimonies on soil erosion while raising awareness about the threats posed by soil erosion.

The contest is addressed to anyone who has knowledge of or has witnessed the damaging consequences of soil erosion. This can include farmers, agricultural extension agents, students, researchers, policymakers, businesses and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).

Videos should focus on at least one of the below elements:

  • Provide practical examples of the key drivers of soil erosion
  • Showcase the on-site and off-site impacts of soil erosion
  • Show examples of soil erosion processes
  • Tell your story and how you are successfully fighting soil erosion

The winner will be awarded a cash prize of 1000 USD. Second and third prize will receive a cash prize of 800 USD and 500 USD respectively, runners-up will receive FAO publications on soils and gadgets. All shortlisted videos will be showcased on FAO/GSP digital platforms and at GSER19!
