This official Master is presented as a useful tool for the training of researchers and professionals from a variety of economic and social sectors. This is especially relevant at a time when Organic Agriculture has become an instrument that is increasingly present in the agendas of public institutions, as evidenced by the Development Plans of the various public administrations, underlining the present and future of this sector and the necessary support that is intended to be given from different public bodies for economic reasons, healthy consumption, environmental and citizen demand.

What is presented here is not a master's degree in rural development in the broad sense and does not compete, therefore, with those who have it as a central object, among other reasons because it does not seem that agricultural activity and organic farming, in particular, are the only way to implement rural development models. Consequently, it is focused on Agroecology from a scientific point of view and in organic agriculture from the practical point of view. The contents refer not only to the technical aspects but also to the economic, social and political aspects that obviously have to do with the development of the rural world. In this context, Agroecology is given the capacity to generate rural development that is sustainable and therefore it is necessary to reflect it in the title.
The master has a first virtual phase in which the basic concepts of introduction to Agroecology will be worked through readings, putting in common through the virtual forums created for it. The modules of the face-to-face phase are developed in the classroom, through master classes, discussions and group dynamics, encouraging as much as possible the dialogue and exchange between teachers and students. There are also field trips in some of the modules. The evaluation of each module will be presented at the beginning, using different formats such as the individual written test from the readings, the resolution of problems, the collective exhibition of practices or the work developed in class.
Students must complete a total of 60 ECTS, addressing subjects of different approaches such as sociological, agronomic, ecological, economic and political.
The teaching team is made up of professors and researchers of the highest international level in the field of Agroecology, composing a multidisciplinary team that attends the different modules, translating - in the majority of cases - a transdisciplinary approach capable of covering a view complex on the processes of agro-ecological transition from the farm to social processes.
