Post doc in Fisheries Science - Leibniz-Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries

The Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries, in Berlin, Germany, is looking for a PostDoc in Fisheries Science.

The topic can be freely chosen by the candidate from one of the following subjects:

  • Simulation Modelling: Studying spatial fish-angler-interactions using a management strategy evaluation framework that accounts for uncertainties and trade-offs in the context of stocking.
  • Economics: Design, execution and analysis of a discrete choice experiment with anglers to study willingness-to-pay and preferences for fish stocking-related attributes using a survey.
  • Quantitative literature reviews: Applying meta-analytical tools to recreational fisheries.
  • Stock assessment: Using mark-recapture models to study population dynamics of exploited freshwater fish stocks in small angling club stillwaters.
  • Fish stocking research: anything else that might be of interest to our group in the context of the Besatzfisch project in German recreational fisheries.
  • Behavioural ecology: movement ecology using high resolution 3-D fish telemetry data collected over multiple years in a natural lake.
  • Experimental evolution: studying phenotypic changes to size-selectively exploited zebrafish in the lab.
