Full-time Researcher - Forest Team

The Forest Team is part of the Natural resources group (NRG) whose planned goal for the FY15-19 strategy period is increased investment in locally controlled and sustainable land and natural resource use, by working with partners at local, national and international levels - generating evidence, strengthening capability and influencing policy and practice.

The Forest team works with partners in Africa, Asia and Latin America to improve the livelihoods of those who live in and around forests, as well as ensuring that those forests are managed in a fair and sustainable way.

To succeed in this role you must have a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline; extensive research and practical work experience in tropical forestry in developing countries e.g. forestry rights, tenure and governance; fluency in English and strong communication skills demonstrated by excellent interpersonal, networking and negotiation skills developed through interacting with people from different backgrounds and cultures; and a good knowledge of forest related international policy frameworks.  See job description for full list of essential skills and experience.
