FiBL is looking for a PhD candidate for the production of high-quality cereals under low fertility conditions.

The project CERQUAL investigates into different approaches to enable the production of high-quality cereals under low fertility conditions in organic production. In this framework, you will conduct an investigation about the interaction of soil fertility, plant nutrition and wheat quality aspects. The project is based at FIBL and will be realized in close collaboration with the group Crop Plant Breeding at Agroscope in Nyon and the group Plant Nutrition of Professor E. Frossard at ETH in Zürich.

Requirements

  • FiBL is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented person with a strong interest in cereal production, plant nutrition and quality. Experience in micronutrient analyses is an advantage. Applicants should hold a master level degree in agronomy, biology or environmental sciences that is recognized by ETH Zürich.
  • It is expected that candidates is proficient in German and/or French. The Working language is French.
  • A driving license is indispensable.

Duration and working place

  • The duration of the position is four years. 
  • The project is based at FiBL Antenne romande in Lausanne. Several parts of the project will be realised at Agroscope in Nyon and at ETH in Zürich.
