Building on the success of YPARD Uganda’s inaugural Farm Day Out in 2024, which brought together over 60 young agripreneurs for hands-on learning, dialogue, and inspiration, the 2025 edition aims to deepen impact by incorporating a focused mentorship session on Agroecology. The event comes at a time when the call for resilient, sustainable, and youth-led agrifood systems is stronger than ever, and Agroecology presents a practical pathway for youth-led innovation, climate adaptation, and inclusive transformation.
The event targets 50+ youth (18–35 years) from different regions of Uganda, including young farmers, students, agripreneurs, and mainly young professionals in agriculture.
YPARD (Young Professionals for Agricultural Development) is a global movement that empowers youth to engage meaningfully in sustainable agriculture and food systems. With active engagement across universities, farming communities, civil society, and development agencies, YPARD Uganda champions inclusive food system transformation and intergenerational collaboration. Through initiatives like the Farm Day Out, agribusiness mentorship programs, and youth policy dialogues, YPARD Uganda Cafes, YPARD Community of Practice, the platform ensures that Uganda’s youth are not just beneficiaries but active drivers of agricultural development and resilience.
