In the heart of Tanzania’s agricultural capital, Dodoma, a powerful shift is underway. Spearheaded by passionate youth and sustainability advocates, Green Harvest Organic Fertilizer is transforming agriculture by merging innovation with environmental stewardship. As YPARD Tanzania’s flagship initiative, Green Harvest was officially launched in March, in collaboration with YPARD Tanzania team members and the Environmental Conservers Youth Club.
This isn’t just another agribusiness—it’s a movement to redefine how farming supports people, the planet, and future generations.
Green Harvest was born in response to a pressing challenge: low crop yields, especially in vegetable farming, and rising food insecurity among smallholder farmers. Meanwhile, urban food waste continues to pile up, much of it ending in landfills, contributing to environmental degradation.
Green Harvest flips this problem into a solution by transforming food waste into 100% organic, chemical-free fertilizer that rejuvenates soil and supports healthy, sustainable plant growth.
“We’re not just creating a product—we’re creating impact,” says Selestine Focus, Founder and CEO of Green Harvest and Country Representative of YPARD Tanzania. “This initiative is built on youth collaboration, community service, and sustainable innovation.”
Mission:

Their unified goal: to build a regenerative, sustainable agricultural ecosystem in Tanzania—one handful of fertilizer at a time.
As YPARD Tanzania’s main registered initiative, Green Harvest represents more than business success—it’s a blueprint for youth-driven change. With the support of the Environmental Conservers Youth Club, the initiative highlights how collaboration, innovation, and environmental care can solve local challenges and inspire nationwide transformation. The official launch of the initiative is set to take place in the upcoming months.
