YPARD E-Discussion: Round 1

Dear YPARD MembersOne week ago, we have informed you about the E-Discussion on YPARD’s future approach and activites. Today (23.06.09) we would like to start the first round, that will last until 26. June. The topic of this first round is: What approach for YPARD?The idea is to discuss, what the main purpose of YPARD should be.Should it maintain its current, rather broad approach with the 4 objectives “facilitate exchange of information”, “broaden opportunities to contribute to ARD policy debates”, “promote agriculture among young people” and “facilitate access to resources / capacity building opportunities”?Or should YPARD first privilege its members by focusing on concrete inclusion activities to support young professionals in increasing their competencies? For example capacity building in article writing, project management or successful application? Or formulate common YPARD position papers?Or should YPARD focus on advocacy and awareness by lobbying for the intests of youth in ARD thereby creating indirect benefits for young professionals?Or should YPARD do something completely different? Do you see another approach for YPARD that better serves the interests of young professionals in ARD?--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Please enter your ideas and comments on the YPARD E-Discussion platform at: http://ypard.wordpress.com/This is an open platform.
