YPARD nigerian representative, Obadina Adewale Olusegun introduced YPARD to West African Food sciences and nutrition students. He took the opportunity of a workshop on Food and Fortification in Senegal to create awareness on YPARD and its activities.

This two-day’s  workshop on “Food fortification and Entrepreneurship’ was designed  to  build  the  confidence  and  skills  of West African youth on food fortification, food safety and entrepreneurship and was organized by West African Association of Food Science and Technology (WAAFoST), sponsored by Association of African Universities (AAU). The events took place at Hotel Ndiambour, Senegal between 14-15 February, 2011. A total of 45 youth from different Department of Food Science and Nutrition within West Africa attended the workshop.

Obadina was invited to present a Food safety framework for African Traditional Foods, and the opportunity of having youths from different countries within the West African Countries was used in introducing YPARD and its activities to the youth. Also, they were encouraged to become a member by guiding them through on how to register at the YPARD website.
